Scotch-Brite® se une a la lucha contra el cáncer de mama

According to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, in Mexico 16 women die each day from breast cancer, a figure that would decrease if the cases were detected in the initial stages.

To fight this disease and educate women about the importance of regular exams starting at age 25, Scotch-Brite® and the Breast Cancer Foundation (FUCAM) again presented their alliance against the deadliest cancer among women Mexican.

The 2018 campaign is called LAZOS QUE UNEN, and Scotch-Brite®, the iconic brand of household cleaning products, will make a donation that will help the efforts to implement activities related to this cause. “With this donation we will support doctors with scholarships to continue their studies and strengthen their knowledge so that we can all continue fighting against breast cancer,” said Brenda Flores, marketing manager for Scotch-Brite®.

Despite having less than 120 people on its staff, FUCAM treats 7 percent of breast cancer cases detected in Mexico, a figure of around 17,000 a year. The importance of having regular exams and mammograms after turning 40 is that if the breast tumor is detected in any of the first two stages, the chances of survival are over 90 percent.

The Scotch-Brite® pink product line, which belongs to the 3M company, will not only serve to raise funds, but will also contribute to the awareness of all those who purchase a pink product, a global symbol of the fight against breast cancer and solidarity with all people who suffer from it. The products participating in the limited edition are the Cero Rayas® sponge fiber, buckets, brooms, dustpan and mop, kitchen gloves and multi-use cloths.

In this way, in alliance with FUCAM and with the confidence that the knowledge of the scholarship doctors will help more women, Scotch-Brite® joins the fight against breast cancer and commits to continue fighting year after year to support to all Mexican women who suffer this disease directly or indirectly.
